The design is a departure from the usual "gamer" aesthetic that is usually loud and aggressive, for a more low-key stylish look that has everything blacked out. In Razer's headphones product range, the Barracuda sits comfortably between the E-Sports performance driven Blackshark v2, and the mobile lifestyle centric Opus.

The biggest challenge for the low cost "X" version of the Barracuda lineup was to make it lightweight. Incredible work was put into the refinement of the design to achieve what few wireless gaming headsets have, of weighing under 250g while retaining high quality gaming audio.
